Resin Lamp Size Guide: M vs L vs XL, With Real Dimensions

Most of our resin lamps come in three sizes, M, L and XL, and a few also come in 2XL. The exact dimensions are listed in the Specifications section of every product, but because designs vary, the same letter can mean slightly different sizes from one lamp to the next. This guide explains the typical dimensions, what they cost and where each size works best.

How to read the size chart

Block lamps are listed as height x width, in inches.
Round lamps are listed as diameter x depth.
Egg lamps are listed by diameter and height.
Handmade variation: each lamp is poured and painted by hand, so expect a variation of around 0.5 to 1 inch.

Typical resin lamp sizes

We analyzed the size charts of more than 1,800 lamps in our catalog. These are the most common size sets:

For the standard size set, prices are usually $72.90 (M), $113.90 (L) and $163.90 (XL). Larger and more detailed designs cost more, and every product page shows the price for each size.

Which size should you choose?

M: nightstands, monitor shelves and small desks

Size M is the most affordable and fits almost anywhere. It is a good choice for a bedside night light, a shelf next to your monitor or a gift when you don't know how much space they have.

L: the all-rounder

L adds height and lets you see more of the scene. It works on a desk, a dresser or a bookshelf, and it is the size we recommend if you are unsure.

XL: a statement piece

XL is for display: a bookshelf centerpiece, a gaming room shelf or a collector's cabinet. Choose XL for scenes with lots of detail, such as battles and dioramas.

2XL: select designs only

A handful of designs, such as the Gandalf vs the Balrog diorama lamp and the Haku Spirited Away lamp, also come in 2XL.

Measuring tips

Measure the height of the shelf space and the depth of the surface.
Leave a little room behind the lamp for the USB cable.
Check that a USB wall adapter, computer or power bank is within reach of the included cable.
